The Centre for Peace Advancement in Nigeria (CEPAN) is a member of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Team (EPRT), a project of Justice Peace Development Commission of the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos funded by the Catholic Relief Services Nigeria and United Nation Development Fund (UNDP). The EPRT was established as a response to man-made and natural disasters.

The project works with communities to prepare and rapidly respond to emergencies while dealing with issues of peacebuilding. Peacebuilding is also integrated into the Emergency Preparedness Response Programme to help prevent the escalation of community conflict. The project is interfaith (bringing together Moslems and Christians) that have the ability to response to the need of internally displaced persons.

CEPAN is a member of the Management Advisory Committee (MAC) and State Coordinating Committee (SCC) of the project. The organization helps in designing and implementing programmes; and also supervises the selection of participants for the series of training of trainers (TOT) workshops and formulate policies and pass down to the programme Director for implementation.
