ABOUT US

Centre for Peace Advancement in Nigeria (CEPAN) is an interfaith, not-for-profit making, non-governmental organization established in February 2004. The organization came about as a result of response to the plethora of sectarian violent conflicts in Nigeria by a group of peace-building practitioners.  These concern people have actively been involved in peace work for so many years working especially with different Christian Faith-Based Organizations to promote peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians in Nigeria.

 

MERIT AWARDS

CEPAN has a track record of performance especially in peacebuilding and conflict transformation among the diverse ethnic and religious groups in Plateau State. In recognition of the organisation’s effort in promoting sustainable peace and development in communities, the centre has received several awards and commendations from individuals and organizations:

  • Merit Award by Hotel Resort Restaurant Owners Association of Nigeria

  • Certificate of Service by Nigerian Youth for Peace

  • Certificate of Ambassador of Peace by C.M. Fagbemi Ayuba,

  • Award of Excellence by AIESEC Jos

  • Merit Award by Social Students Association of Nigeria, University of Jos

  • Award of Recognition by Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON)

DEPARTMENTS

CEPAN has two major departments:

  • Finance/Administration  and

  • Programmes

There are four unites under programmes; and these include the following:

  • Peacebuilding & Conflict Mitigation and transformation

  • Good Governance

  • Humanitarian Relief  

  • Research and Documentation
